Elegant Parrot Neophema elegans
Psittaculidae Usually seen as they forage on the ground, Elegant Parrots often occur in flocks, and they sometimes feed in the company of the similar-looking Blue-winged Parrot. They often remain still if you approach them, and do not flush until the last moment, when they flutter off to a nearby perch or fly off to land a little further ahead, though if they fly away altogether, they are swift and sometimes reach such great heights that they are lost to sight.
